Gary Hiscott - artist

I seek to express in paint - joy, humour and playfulness as part of my Christian faith. Although I am forced to acknowledge that the world is filled with selfishness, poverty, horror and war - yet there is so much beauty, order and creativity. In my art I choose to open eyes to wonderful things that have always been there but have not been seen.

In Birmingham I was part of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists - RBSA.

On moving to Drenewydd - Powys I was given many chances to show my work and was three time winner of the Theatre Hafren 'Open Art' competition.
After moving to coastal West Wales and living in Llanon and now in Bow Street I became a member of the Ceredigion Art Trail opening up to me many wonderful opportunities to show and sell my art.

Over the years my style might seem to have changed but is always broad, loose, colour filled, full of Welshness, culture, and tradition. Wales is such an important part of my life with its wide palette of coast, mountain, wild seas, calm and 'glorious changefulness'.
